The World Mission Prayer League is a Lutheran community committed to know Christ, pray for the advance of His kingdom, share the gospel and ourselves with those who do not know Him, and encourage Christians everywhere in this global task. Prayer is our working method. We embrace a rich heritage that flows from the passionate witness of Christians faithful to the call of Jesus. Our ministry realizes the vision of Ernest Weinhardt to bring the Good News into the heart of Africa, Asia, and Latin America. The World Mission Prayer League consists of some 6,000 committed and praying members. WMPL has over 100 missionaries in 20+ countries. 'We must have it as our aim to bring the gospel to the very last man. Wherever there are people who have not heard the gospel, to them we must go, no matter how few in number they may be.' - Ernest Weinhardt, WMPL Founder
OUR PURPOSE To Glorify God in all Things OUR VISION To magnify God's glory through His church by developing fully devoted disciples of Jesus Christ OUR MISSION The Great Commandment (Matthew 22:34-40) and the Great Commission (Matthew 28:18-20) Celebration: Worship that magnifies God - We believe that our first priority to God as expressed in the Great Commandment is to love God with all one's heart, soul, and mind. As the greatest expression of your love for God, we are committed to a private and public worship by giving true honor to the Living Word (Jesus Christ) and the Written Word (the Scriptures). We shall endeavor to have a balanced, Biblical worship that recognizes both traditional and contemporary forms. Ministry: Service that Ministers Grace - We believe love for God can not be separated from love for people. The second part of the Great Commandment is to love your neighbor as yourself. We are committed to a ministry that is characterized by the grace of God. We recognize that grace is received in a individual's appropriation of the saving work of Christ followed by baptism as a believer. We will endeavor to encourage people to minister this grace, by being servants, and thus extending God's grace to others in a Christ-like spirit. Biblical Evangelism: Evangelism that Multiplies Disciples - We believe that one of the central purposes of the church expressed in Jesus' last words on earth - the Great Commission (Matthew 28:18-20). The church is to go and make disciples or evangelize those who are without a personal understanding of God's salvation through His Son, Jesus Christ. We are committed to faithfulness to the Scriptures in presenting the gospel - that salvation is through God's work, not man's, accomplishing it through the death and resurrection of His Son, Jesus Christ. We shall endeavor to see every Christian be involved in evangelism. We believe that biblical evangelism is more than making decisions. The church, with God's enabling, is to make disciples - those who follow Christ fully. Community: Fellowship that Models Love - We believe, in accordance with the Great Commission, those who are evangelized, those who have received salvation in Christ, express that reality through baptism by immersion.
We believe the Church is to be a place of vision, mission, inclusion, restoration, acceptance and freedom. We believe that Christians are to champion the cause of the Local Church by reflecting the love, light and life of Jesus Christ. Not only is it impo
