What Our District Is All HistoryThe Pembina Valley Conservation District (PVCD) was officially established by Order In Council (cabinet resolution) on October 2, 1989, after four years of negotiations between local municipalities. The original members were the Rural Municipalities of Lorne, Louise, Pembina and Thompson; they have since been joined by the villages/towns of Crystal City, Manitou, Pilot Mound, Cartwright and Morden (2007) and the RM of Roblin (1997) and the RM of Stanley (2003). Pembina Valley was the sixth CD to be formed in Manitoba since 1972, there have since been twelve more additions.The primary reasons for forming the Pembina Valley Conservation District involved concerns with the loss of valuable topsoil through wind and water erosion in the area. Water shortages for local farmers, and erosion of municipal roads, have also been persistent problems. Panama City Beach, FL (4/14/14)Major Expansion Underway at Iconic Panama City Beach MarinaAdditional Dry Storage Will Double Current CapacityConstruction is well underway for a major expansion at Piratés Cove Marina in Panama City Beach, Florida. All building foundations and concrete slabs are poured with erection of the steel building set to begin the first week in May. With a current capacity of 309 boats, the new dry storage barn will add an additional 450 dry stack slips for boats up to 45 feet in length. It's a move that will make Piratés Cove Marina one of the largest indoor dry storage boat facilities found anywhere on the northern Gulf Coast.
