Since opening its first program in 1975 McMan Youth, Family and Community Services Association has grown and evolved into a dynamic not-for-profit social service agency that provides a comprehensive range of programs. McMan is a well respected organization and has earned a solid reputation as a responsive, highly competent and innovative partner in service delivery.
Rocky Mountain House draws its rich history from the North Saskatchewan River. Fur traders used the River to transport goods east that were found west, within and over the great Rocky Mountain range. It was the prominent location of the confluence of the Clearwater and North Saskatchewan River where the two competing fur trading companies of the 1800s, the Hudson's Bay Company and North West Company decided to set up trading posts. Both companies had the idea of using this site as a jumping off point for exploration of routes to the Pacific Coast, as well as for fur trading.

Our gratitude goes out to the many folks who came to this land in the early years who with perseverance and determination made Eckville what it is today a vibrant community with warm hospitality.Today, this prosperous growing community is the center for agriculture, oil and gas, and lumber enterprises as well as a major center for people to live in and enjoy the small town atmosphere with the big town amenities.Eckville offers the visitor and resident alike a full range of retail businesses, shopping, restaurants, public services, banks, excellent sporting facilities, a Community Centre, Seniors Friendship Centre, Seniors Lodge, and two golf courses, just to name a few.
VOLUNTEERS & PROGRAMS ~SLCPA relies heavily on our volunteers and has experienced very good participation from members of the community and our clientele. Volunteer participation includes our board members, 15 20 program facilitators and 25 35 general volunteers. We utilize our facility which comprises of 2160 sq. ft. of offices and meeting space in a down town location to facilitate all programs.Meeting space is also available for other community organizations to utilize. Our downtown facility is open five days per week with hours 9:00 am Noon and 1:00 pm 4:00 pm and is available for booking on weekends. You can SLCPA anytime through our administrator, voicemail, email, website or Facebook.We also offer a central location for event registration and/or ticket sales for any organization or school.Volunteers are a vital part of our association. Annually we utilize hundreds of volunteer's helping with programs, activities and events. They enhance the Association's ability to meet the needs of our growing community
