Whistler Community Services Society (WCSS) has supported Whistler’s social health and wellness since 1989. Our Re-Use-It and Re-Build-It thrift stores are powerhouses in Whistler’s circular economy, diverting over one thousand kilograms of useful items from landfill each day, and nearly 500,000 kilograms of waste PER YEAR through our stores and bottle refundables program. Funds earned from these social enterprises are reinvested back into the community, in the form of free programs, health and wellness resources, and other support.
As a non-profit social services and social enterprise organisation with charitable status, we rely on the generosity of volunteers and donors to support community members where they need it most, like the Whistler Food Bank, Outreach Services and the over 30 other programs and services that WCSS offers.
Whistler's favorite thrift store. The Re-Use-It Centre opened its doors in 2000 with little fanfare. Since then, it has become a model of Social Entrepreneurship much envied by other non-profits both locally and internationally.
This awesome store is tucked away in Function Junction about 10 minutes south of Whistler village. It provides an eclectic mix of clothes, ski and board equipment (winter) bikes (summer), cd's/dvd's, books kitchenware, electronics, and all sorts of curiosities and knick knacks anyone could want. Perfect for locals, tourists and anyone thinking of a winter/summer season on the mountain.Read more
