Nanaimo Art Gallery is a public art gallery committed to inspiring and challenging our community through art. Exhibitions of work by professional artists are excellent, relevant and extend out into the community through dynamic public programs. Art Lab, our dedicated space for learning, offers innovative workshops and hands-on activities for children, teens and adults. The Gallery holds a growing collection of art, connects with thousands of students through TD Artists in the Schools, and runs The Gallery Store which features a selection of high-quality, locally made artworks and objects. The Navigator is Vancouver Island University’s (formerly Malaspina University–College) student press. Founded in 1969 as a newspaper, the Navigator (aka the Nav) recently evolved into a monthly magazine. In 1992, the Nav became an incorporated society under the Society Act of BC. The magazine is run completely by students—from the business end of selling ads and bookkeeping, to writing, designing, and editing. The Nav strives to provide a venue for students to gain professional experience, and act as an outlet to bring pressing student and community issues to the public eye.

The View Gallery is a contemporary art gallery on the Nanaimo campus of Vancouver Island University, which presents all types of visual arts and designs made by students, community-members, and professional artists. A non-commercial site, the gallery presents a mixture of programming and art events that range from touring exhibitions to annual showcases of student art. The View Gallery is run and staffed by faculty members and students in the Department of Art and Design, within the Faculty of Art and Humanities.

Edgewood Treatment Centre is an internationally recognized centre for addiction treatment and co-occurring mental health issues and has been treating patients for over 20 years. We champion hope through our inter-professional, bio-psycho, social, spiritual 12-step approach, ensuring our patients receive individualized treatment. Whether the patient needs firm guidance getting back on track or needs to learn the important life skills to navigate their journey we are always there to help. This holistic approach considers not only the patient, but their family and social system as well. Four Seasons Montessori Preschool and Kindergarten is an established school located on a forested Seven-acre lot along Hammond Bay Road.
