Originally from Saskatchewan he graduated university in 1994 with a degree in physical therapy and moved to the West Kootenays in 2003 where he bought Valhalla. First and foremost Kirby considers himself a sport therapist and has a special interest in the assessment and treatment of the injured athlete. He has worked with athletes in a variety of sports but has a special passion for hockey.
