Since it was established in 1969, three families have had the privilege of serving the Grand Lake area as proprietors of this business. As we approach our 25th year here, we are grateful to our predecessors who built the foundations, and to the people of our communities who have supported us as we carry on that legacy.

Fundy Funeral Home is one of many Co-Operative Funeral Homes, which trace their beginnings to the turn of the century, throughout the 1940's and 1950's in western Canada, and in the 1960's and 1970's in this region. The third such development for New Brunswick was the Fundy Funeral Home, opening its doors on Sept. 10, 1995 providing dedicated service to the residents of Saint John, New Brunswick, and surrounding areas for both non-members, and members.
The founders were a group of individuals who were members of the Co-op Credit Union movement, they had a vision to provide a service to the community thru member ownership. The original founders were: Richard Anderson, M. Carpenter, Malcolm Daley, Bernie Desmond, Roy Mackin, Bette McClary, Jean Prime and Carla Tesink.

Bishop's Funeral Home Ltd. has been providing dedicated service to the residents of Fredericton, New Brunswick and it's surrounding areas for over forty years.
The founder, Clowes Bishop, was a graduate of the Arnprior, Ontario police college and Fredericton's first city detective. He left the police force in 1964 to start his funeral home at the suggestion of funeral director Fraser Flewelling of Nackawic, New Brunswick. (Clowes raced a standard bred horse owned by Fraser for many years)
Son Gerald joined his father in 1965 and operated a successful business since that time. Gerald's other accomplishments included over twenty years service on the licensing board of the New Brunswick Funeral Directors and Embalmers Association (serving five four-year terms), successful announcer at horse races and charity auctions and membership in the New Brunswick Horsemen's Association and Fredericton Chamber of Commerce.
