I wanted a kitchen back splash with some character in my open concept living space. I met Carol at Wow Factor Mosaics to discuss possible options. WowFactor Mosaics is the coming together of a lifetime of making art, a love of the materials of mosaic, and my degrees in interior design and art history.
Glass, stone, tile and found objects - some new, some repurposed, some picked up in unlikely places - often inspire the outcome themselves (see Strata - glass and salvaged beach glass piece on Gallery Page).
The first project I completed was my bathroom wall and vanity countertop...the wall a spontaneous floral explosion, the counter a more peaceful curvilinear rock stream. Without exception, everyone who saw it said "Wow!", followed by some further comment or question. After hearing the same response several times over, I realized this new endeavour already had a name, and WowFactor Mosaics was born.
