This restaurant is so special to my wife and I that we make a point to go there every year on our anniversary. This year is our 25th and once again it was another top of the line experience! I never have to worry about the food. It is always excellent. The atmosphere is so cozy and the staff gives you the impression that they are eager to serve and help. I love this place!Read more

We celebrated our 50th Wedding Anniversary with our family at Michaels On The Thames on Oct/5/19, we had a most enjoyable dining experience, the private dining room was a nice touch for our celebration.Joelle made us feel very welcomed and provided a service that was very much appreciated.Todd our server was super with making sure all of the guest were looked after. Special note to say the signage outside on the marquis, the 50th Anniversary cake with gold candles, was a nice touch.Thank you Read more
When La Casa Ristorante first opened its doors on March 10, 1994, proprietor Syl Basacco had already done his homework by studying and copying many of our Mom's recipes from back home in Ceprano, Italy. In fact it used to be quite the treat when La Casa featured our Mom's home-made lasagna as the daily special. Some of these recipes are still on our menu today, along with many other delicious dishes our talented chefs have created over the years. Bottom line : you don't last this long unless your food is really good!
My husband and I dined at La Casa on Saturday night. We started with Mussels for appetizer - delicious...I wanted to drink the sauce it was so good. We also shared a Ceasar Salad. The dressing was very nice, perhaps a bit too much garlic (a little too overwhelming). Still tasty though.
I ordered lobster pasta, all I can say is DELICIOUS! So tasty. I brought some home and was looking forward to eating it again the next day for lunch. My husband ordered beef tenderloin. Again, delicious! Tender, perfectly cooked and tasty. The waiter was very professional and friendly. We had a great time and a fantastic meal. No wonder La Casa is still one of the best restaurant's in London. It's so nice to go out for dinner and receive a great meal. The meals are not pretentious or overpriced (unlike other London restaurants in the downtown area). The food is simply delicious. Thank you for a great night out!Read more
Built in 1925 by John Smallman, The Windermere Manor is a faithful architectural reflection of Tudor, England and a fitting tribute to John's father Thomas, a founding member of The Imperial Oil Company. The Smallman family had a passion for breeding and racing horses. Down the path between the hotel and Manor House, there are remnants of an old stone bridge that was once part of a horse run that wound through the property. The original farm was a horse farm and cash crops were also grown.Although slightly altered, the Manor's interior retains the feeling of a by-gone era of warmth and luxury. The baronial splendor of the Grand Hall, with it's lofty ceilings, hand-hewn beams, oak balcony and welcoming wood-burning stone fireplace all echo a by-gone era of pageantry and privilege.

Come savor a delectable meal at Black Shire Pub. They are open nightly all week. You can get there by bicycle and public transit and visit them in a neighborhood recognized as exciting. You can pay by Interac, MasterCard and Visa.
.......you want to go back! The Blackshire is a great place to have a beer.Recently taken over by new owners, this place has a new life. Most food is locally sourced and the beer has a local theme too. Sonita tries to get beer from within 100 miles of the pub, and a lot of the food is sourced from the same area. The menu is upscale pub food with a seasonal twist. Spring Leek Salad, Local Lamb, Crab Apple Salad, fondue with cheese made with local beer, etc.I usually get the fondue as the portion is huge and it is about $10.00, or I get wings in the evening when they are half price. FIre and ice are great! The place has a large patio which is usually fairly busy. Inside, it is typical pub decor with a homey feel to it. Pub quiz night is a solid night to go on to get to know the owners and regulars. I find it better to go to the bar to order your drinks, as table service can be a bit lacking. Taps total 20, including Railway City, Stratford, Creemore,Black Oak, Great Lakes, Steamwhistle, and the bottle selection is limited but has included many micros. I’ll return for the harder to get Ontario micros they seem to always get. Worth checking out.Read more

FitzRays is certainly one of London's hidden gems. It stands amidst the sea of businesses that has become the new downtown core focused around the Budweiser Gardens and offers refuge to anyone with an appetite for food, live music, or just a cool beverage on our patio.Quaint and casual, the bar serves the restaurant and patio, but also provides comfortable stools for anyone who wants to relax and have a quick drink. The dining area in the restaurant is spacious and yet cozy. Dim hanging lights give the room a calm atmosphere, even though so much is going on around it. You will certainly be enthused with how genuinely appetizing the menu is. Most people expect typical pub fare, but are thrilled that there is so much more.
We were in the mood for something different, a place with a patio and music but not a place where you weren't able to move or order anything without waiting in line. We made a good choice in going to Fitzrays. We all tried something different and everyone was happy with their food (apparently the veggie burger is outstanding, i am a meatalohic though so i'll take her word for that one). The staff was very attentive and got everything right, and made sure we always had a full beverage. There was some guy playing guitar - Graham something - who was very good and not too loud. We may end up going here every Friday in the summer.Read more
