International Literacy Day 2014 News September 8, 2014Literacy Newfoundland and Labrador has provided input to the provincial government over the past 7 years in an effort to bring a focus to the critical needs of literacy and skills development. We note that over this period the same key issues are raised, however, political will has not provided sufficient backing and resources to adequately address these important areas.

The Adult Learning Association of Cape Breton County provides free classes where adults can get their GED, improve their reading, writing, math and computer skills, and obtain valuable workplace certifications. Nova Scotia's Adult Learning Program level 1 and 2 is offered by qualified, experienced adult education instructors. Learners work at their own pace in small, supportive classes.
