It's no wonder public libraries mean so much to Nova Scotians.The Provincial Library works with Nova Scotia's 78 public libraries, providing leadership and support to ensure libraries continue to offer services that enrich lives and communities. The Provincial Library is not an actual library facility; we serve the public libraries that serve Nova Scotians, working together with government and the province's nine library regions .The Provincial Library provides centralized services for public libraries, like cataloguing and other key technology services that help libraries operate effectively.

The Pictou-Antigonish Regional Library is one of nine regional public libraries across Nova Scotia. The regional library system was created through provincial legislation, the Public Libraries Act. Each regional library is governed by an independent library board. Funding is provided by the Province of Nova Scotia, through the Provincial Library (Communities, Culture & Heritage Department) and by each municipal unit in the Antigonish – Pictou area.

We offer a full range of free services and access to the resources of all Nova Scotia public libraries. The Internet is also accessible free of charge, please call for more details.Collection: Books for all ages and interests, reference, large print books, videos, magazines, books on cassette, government documents, and more.Services: Reader's advisory, reference, inter-library loan, Internet access with free tutoring, instructional tours available upon request. Summer residents are welcome to use the Library as well, simply drop by for your borrower's card.Technology Services: Public access computers (Public and Express) all with Internet access, IT training, Corel WordPerfect Suite, Microsoft Office 2000, scanners, digital camera, laser and colour inkjet printing, and more.
