The Powell River Academy of Music is a not-for-profit community music school offering excellence in arts education to students of all ages as well as adults. Through its training programs in music, dance, theatre, visual arts. the students and adults develop their talents and skills; plus acquire a life long love of the arts. Visitors and the citizens of Powell River are enriched through the Academy Concert Series and the many international artists that perform at the International Choral Kathaumixw Festival and Symphony Orchestra Academy of the Pacific. Academy Choirs are known world-wide through their performances, recordings, television and radio broadcasts in over 26 countries. Powell River is located 80 air miles north of Vancouver on British Columbia's beautiful 'sunshine coast' - the gateway to the extraordinary vistas of Desolation Sound.

The Comox Valley Hospice Society eases the journey of dying and grieving by providing education, resources, and emotional support when you are dying, caring for someone at the end of life, or when a death occurs. Our organization has been serving the Comox Valley since 1983.
In business for 34 years and still loving it. Choose from a wide array of classes Monday to Thursday for adults and teens from beginner to advanced skill levels. Drop-in workshop every Friday geared for beginners, a different dance taught each week. Afterward we dim the lights, bring out refreshments and have a dance party! Visitors are always welcome. Located at our cozy Native Sons Hall with a 5400 square foot sprung dance floor and 22 foot high ceiling.
