Westwinds is a not-for-profit ADULT community organization operated by and for its members. You must be 18 years of age to join Westwinds.Regardless of your level of experience, we have a spot for you in one (or more) of our 5 concert bands, 5 jazz bands or 4 choirs. These groups rehearse, in a structured learning environment, once per week from 7pm to 9pm, from September through May. Within each group, you would find the support and camaraderie of welcoming peers who play or sing at similar levels. You will have the exhilarating experience of performing for audiences a number of times per year in such events as the Christmas Concert, the Alberta International Band Festival,Choralfest and other performances. In addition, Westwinds offersclinics and other classes to augment the weekly rehearsals. In the summer, we offer an optional, relaxed, six-week program for junior and advanced levels of concert band, jazz band and choir. A herbarium is essentially a library of plants, a vast collection that catalogs the species composition in our surrounding area.
