Midwife is a registered health care professional who provides complete care to women having healthy, normal pregnancies throughout their pregnancy, labour and birth. Midwives also provide care to both mother and baby during the first six weeks following birth. Most midwives work together in group practices. A woman is seen by two or three midwives. During regularly scheduled visits to the midwifery practice, midwives provide clinical examinations, counseling and education.

It is our philosophy that women are active decision-makers in the diverse care that we are able to provide, through the Ontario Model of Midwifery Care
Midwives are experts in normal pregnancy, birth and newborn care. Ontario midwives are funded by the Ontario Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care so services are free to clients. Give birth at a hospital or at home and receive safe, skilled care from your midwife.
