The City of Winnipeg Museums BoardThe role of the City of Winnipeg Museums Board is to implement the City's Heritage Preservation Policy to ensure the ongoing preservation of Winnipeg's museums resources and assets, and to audit the ongoing operations of the museums that receive grant funds and in-kind services from the City.This Board came into effect in 2007, after a May 17, 2006 Council Decision , and the ongoing budgeted museum funds were transferred to it, including the funds for Dalnavert, the Children's Museum, The Manitoba Museum, the Ukrainian Cultural and Educational Centre, and the Western Canada Aviation Museum, for distribution as grants by Council.The mandate and legal structure of the City of Winnipeg Museums Board can be found here, and feel free to catch-up with our agendas and dispositions.Citizens are free to apply for a position on the City of Winnipeg Museums Board. The Royal Winnipeg Rifles fall under the command of the 38 Canadian Brigade Group , a Brigade within the 3rd Canadian Division, which is responsible for all Army units from Northwestern Ontario to British Columbia.Based out of Minto Armouries in Winnipeg Manitob,a The Royal Winnipeg Rifles are the premier Infantry unit in Manitob,a founded in 1883, with a long and proud history of service to Canada and the Crown.The officers and men of The Royal Winnipeg Rifles train as Infantry soldiers: their task 'to close with, and destroy the enemy'. As a Light Infantry unit, soldiers are taught field craft, weapons handling, navigation, infantry tactics and other skills, many of which originated Rifle Regiments of the British Army. These tactics, developed in the early 1800s under Colonel Coote Manningham, were a departure from the tactics used by the Line Infantry of the day
We are ready to improve the Lord's property at Holy Trinity Cathedral - at our AGM this year we had approved a Capital expenditure project: the repaving of our parking lot, something that regular users of the parking lot all can agree. We need to do this so that we can provide a safer environment for all that visit here. We need to raise approximately $100,000 for this project.
