Port-au-Persil Pottery has played a major role in ceramic history of Quebec. It stands today as one of the oldest pottery school in Québec and one of the oldest cultural institution of Charlevoix. Well established along highway 138 at the entrance of the town of Saint-Simeon, the yellow barn is located at the merging point of roads leading to the Saguenay region to the north, the whale-watching area and the North-Shore region to the east and the Gaspé and the Maritimes to the south by ferry-boat across the Saint-Lawrence River.\
Stoneware for function or fun. Warm earthy colors with that feel good touch to them. Food safe glazes, oven, microwave & dishwasher safe. I was a late bloomer finding my creative outlet. Never really knew I had anything to offer in regards to the Art world. We are a Military family & a posting in Kingston Ontario in 2011 changed my life. I found clay or rather it found me. We've been a creative team ever since. I do work on the potters wheel as well as hand-building with slabs, coils, pinch pots & paddling. Most potters pick one of these areas, me, I love them all & can't image having to pick just one. Each method produces a different product both in appearance & feel. I also use a variety of glazes. All lead free & food safe. The majority of my glazes are home made following recipes not unlike a kitchen, except instead of a pretty apron I look like a mad scientist safely protected from my chemicals in a crazy get up that includes goggles, a proper face mask & gloves up to my neck lol.
