Welcome to Kitscoty!Initial settlement of the Kitscoty district began in 1905, with incorporation as a Village following in 1911. The Village is named after an ancient cromlech or burial chamber (3 large stones in a tripod arrangement) known as Kits'Coty House in Kent, England.Located at the junction of the Trans Canada Highway 16 and Secondary Highway 897, Kitscoty is situated midway between Edmonton and Saskatoon. Highway 897 provides a paved route to Cold Lake and the Lakeland region.Kitscoty is located in a prime agricultural area which has much heavy oil activity, both of which provide employment opportunities for the residents.
