I had my driveway paved by this company in the fall and was very impressed. I do not normally leave reviews, but because a driveway is a large investment, I will. I will try to break down why I liked them.
First off these guys are fast! When I signed up I thought “ok my drive will be under construction for a week.” Not the case. I came home from work one day and it had all been dug out. This includes removing a large tree near a gas line (No small task at the best of times) where I wanted pavement to be placed. Came home the second day and all the pavement was down, job complete!
Second point of interest is the company reps. I have always felt uneasy of being conned by contractors / mechanics / anyone you pay a lot of money to do a job. Van Jon knows their stuff. Priced only for what I asked and delivered more. You can tell they are very interested in giving the best possible product and not trying to cut corners like many others in the contract business. I felt very comfortable dealing with this company and not pressured.
Thirdly they have a solid reputation. I know some people who have used them, and all had very positive experiences. From previous work I knew what to expect.
My uncle – very pleased, a small crack developed and they came back immediately to remedy.
My Neighbors – the Van Jon owner actually gave him some money back upon job completion because “we used less stone than I estimated for.”
Lastly they had a competitive price. They are about the same price as other pavers in town but Van Jon has a great reputation.

When I needed someone to do the finishing touches (aluminum capping) on my newly installed front door that replaced a very old, odd-sized door, I was told that I had "irreparable" issues in regard to the installation of the door. The door had been installed by a semi-retired 35 year veteran contractor who no longer had the equipment to do the aluminum work. I was told I'd have to have it removed and pay upwards of $2,000.00 for something that fit better or was installed better. Two local well

We had drainage issues yesterday morning . I called them at 10:15 and they were there by 11:30 to pump out our septic tank and also clear the pipe from the house that was full of grease . excellent service

SHERK LUMBER TIMBER MART, located in Port Colborne Ontario, was established in 1810! Can you imagine a business being in the same family for 200 years....now that's longevity. The business was established as a sawmill and lumber business by David Sherk in 1810 and passed on to family members over the following decades with expansion from a mill into thriving retail lumber business. The Sherk family is part of Port Colborne's history and has diversified into several branches and types of mills including saw, cider, threshing, copping and grist, as well as coal and lumber. Ron Sherk, born in 1931, started at the age of 17 in the coal and lumber side of the enterprise. The lumber yard had rail access and would receive shipments from western Canada and at one time even shipped prefab homes and cottages all over Ontario.
