Our Mission is to provide equitable access to our library and enrich lives in our community. The Granum Library is a member of the Chinook Arch Regional Library System, a consortium of libraries. This membership provides exchange of materials throughout all member libraries. Material may be available through interlibrary loans should they be unavailable within the Chinook Arch Regional Library System.

The Picture Butte Municipal Library provides current, high-interest material in a wide variety of formats for persons of all ages. Special emphasis is placed on stimulating young children's interest and in developing an appreciation for reading and learning.

Our purpose is to provide library books and materials for public use, to organize them for easy access, and to maintain them to ensure their continued availability. We will set a high standard of quality in the choice of materials made available and provide support programs to enhance them. We intend to provide a stimulating cultural atmosphere in a pleasant and attractive facility to promote interest in reading, literacy, and culture.

The Milk River Municipal Library is governed by a dedicated board of volunteer trustees. The Board is appointed by the municipal council, as required by the Libraries Act of Alberta.

Shortgrass Library System provides quality library support services to member municipalities and partners.'The Shortgrass Library System is one of the Alberta Regional Library Systems. Shortgrass Library System is a service-oriented, non-profit organization and is registered as a charitable organization with the Canada Revenue Agency.Shortgrass Library System provides Integrated Library Services (ILS) and other technical services to regional public libraries as well as school-based libraries belonging to Medicine Hat School District No.76 and the Prairie Rose School Division #8.Shortgrass Library System activities and initiatives are guided by our Plan of Service. The Library operates under the Town of Cardston Library Board, whose responsibilities include approving library service policies, operating capital budgets and developing strategic planning documents for effective and efficient operations.
