My approach for each student will be different. During lessons, I teach my students to understand completely what it is they are playing. My long term goal is for my students to be able to eventually have the skills to figure out how to play anything they would like to play. In order to accomplish this goal, I teach note reading, technique, theory, ear-training, music history and any other skills necessary to facilitate the student in having a complete understanding of music.
