Houzz started with a house.When founders Adi and Alon remodeled their home, they started the way these projects often do: with a tall stack of magazines and referrals for home professionals from people they knew. But after those piles of torn out pages failed to make their dream a reality, they felt stuck. There had to be a better way.

The mission of the Spruce Lodge community is to strive for excellence in accommodation and services for seniors and the physically and mentally challenged in a pleasant, caring, homelike environment, ensuring dignity and quality of life for all. Our Logo is a geometric depiction of a spruce tree, however more importantly it depicts our “People First” vision, and our approach to care and to serve. At Spruce Lodge, we put “People first”. Being a people first organization means that even though we operate in an industry that is highly regulated and controlled, we are first and foremost an organization all about the people we serve. We are inspired and motivated each and every day by the life stories of our people, which we purposefully gather and which help us to meet people where they are at. Knowing where someone has been, or where they are on their life’s journey helps us to honour their individuality.

Dance offers so much to children: artistic expression, physical conditioning, self-confidence, teamwork, discipline, self-respect and best of all, the sheer exhilaration of moving beautifully to music.When I was six years old, I dreamed that one day I'd teach dance in my own studio. Since 2005 I've been privileged to live my dream and share my love of dance with the now more than 450 children who every year dance for fun and competition at On Stage Dance. - Meghan Seaman, Owner/InstructorIn their daily lives, our children spend many hours passively in front of TV, computer and iPod screens. At On Stage, kids spend their class time learning to listen actively, to share space, to support their peers, and to see what real progress feels like – those big wall mirrors are there for a reason! It's a subtle kind of freedom for a young person to experience: our dancers learn how to be more themselves while being part of a bigger project.And then there's just the joy of being part of On Stage.
