The visionary leadership of our first president, Charlie Brooks, laid the foundation for a vibrant and dynamic organization that continues to grow. During his tenure (1956-1977), Brooks led Chrysler workers to unprecedented gains in wages and benefits, which had a positive impact on the lives of thousands of workers and families across the land. But his impact went much deeper than that.

Summer Snack Program - Pizza DayCreated on 05 July 2014The Saskatoon and District Labour Council kicked off the Summer Snack Program with a Pizza Day generously provided by the Canadian Labour Congress. Volunteers: Blain, Tracy, Tom, Kristen, Dale, Kelly, Donna, Darla and Laura joined our coordinators and delivered hot pizza and all the 'fixins' to our 6 parks we provide lunches for. No meal is ever complete without the veggies, chocolate milk, yogurt tubes and 100% fruit Juice. We run 7 days a week through the summer months and while the schools and their lunch programs are closed. The Saskatoon Professional Fire Fighters Association is the union that represents the 319 professional members of the Saskatoon Fire and Protective Services. We are proud members of the International Association of Fire Fighters. The membership elects their executive officers and executive committee members for two year terms. The object of this union shall be to organize the members and fellowship, to meet our employers, the City General Manager, the City Council, or any body of Committee connected with our employers or employment to negotiate working contract, conditions, and grievances, from time to time as the need may arise.
