Our centre was founded in 1992 by the Chinese Benevolent Association, the Chinese Cultural Centre the Vancouver Chinatown Merchants Association and the Chinese Freemasons. We started with a small office on Main Street, in the heart of Chinatown. Since then we have moved twice and are now located at 118 Keefer Street at the street level of the Chinatown Parking Plaza.

The Gathering Place Community Centre offers programs and services to the Downtown South community. We primarily serve vulnerable populations, including people on lower income, people with disabilities, seniors, people of diverse ethnic backgrounds, the LGBTQ community, youth, and people who are homeless.

At Pomegranate, we are sowing seeds for a strong and vibrant community of women, children and families.Pomegranate Community Midwives started as a vision. We wanted to have a space where women and families could receive comprehensive midwifery care, attend classes geared towards pregnancy and beyond, benefit from complementary therapy and make meaningful connections with their community.We designed our space to meet our vision.
