After nearly 30 years as a beloved neighborhood hangout, Kits Billiards finally closed in late 2012. The early months of the following year saw the room stripped bare and rebuilt as the comfortable, well-appointed and inviting bar known as Colony.
Sitting atop the waters of Vancouver's Inner Harbour and just off the path of the famous Stanley Park seawall makes for great views of the non-stop urban activity on both water and land. Nestled amid the yachts and seaplanes of Coal Harbour Marina, Cardero's offers spectacular views of the local mountains and Burrard Inlet from the restaurant, pub and year-round patio. Choose from a selection of freshly-grilled fish, or try the juicy wild salmon baked on a cedar plank in a wood-burning oven. Other favourites are grilled steaks, wok squid and wood oven pizza. Sample some of the many B.C. wines-by-the-glass or the diverse selection of beer and ale as you extend your marina-side adventures in the adjoining pub. Cardero's offers a casual, upscale West Coast Menu in a warm yet sophisticated atmosphere.
Food is delicious and waiters are amazing !
But the staff at the front hostess desk are awful ! They are so rude and condescending ! Don’t let the first people that greet you or answer the phone give the wrong impression
Hire people that pre polite and friendly !!Read more
Denman strip in Vancouver's bustling West End, Dover Arms has been an iconic neighborhood gathering place, hosting friendly regulars since 1975. Catch all local and Pay Per View sports action, enjoy a satisfying home-cooked meal , or be entertained by feel-good live music every Sunday. Adjacent to the pub is the newly renovated West End Liquor Store, fully stocked and open seven days a week. Dover Arms lives on as a landmark destination for residents and visitors alike.
Come savor a delectable dish at Wolf & Hound Restaurant. Come unwind at the bar with a refreshment and recline on their terrace beneath the sun. They are open late all week. You can get there not only by public transit but also by bicycle.
I live nearby, and visit several times a year. Good food, nicely varied menu, good selection of draft (including Red Truck IPA, my fave!). Extremely friendly staff, and solid live music on some weekends. My only minor concern is that they don't always have local sports teams on their TVs, had to ask for a Lions game to be put on screen midway through 1st quarter. All in all a great neighbourhood pub.Read more
We cook up no-fuss, delicious pub food for our guests and offer the best selection of craft, import, and local beers on the North Shore. With 24 different types of beers and ciders on tap, served to you in real pint glasses, you can come in for a refreshing glass post Grind or mountain bike ride, or enjoy one with dinner while watching the big game on our large screen high-definition TVs. Our friendly staff and community of regulars make Queens Cross a welcoming and fun pub to visit.
Originally the pub was a Bank of Montreal. In fact, the wall behind the bar is where the old vault used to be. As you look out the front windows you see the railroad tracks and beyond that the Haney Wharf and the mighty Fraser River. When Don and Bernice Gehring purchased the building in the 70's they had the intent to create a neighbourhood pub and chose the name because the tracks he rode on and stole from run east-west right across the street. As you sit and enjoy the great craft beers you can 'hear the train a comin' ' and feel the rumble of the big engines while eating your pub lunch.
An lovely unexpected find between the tracks and the water. Offers fresh farm to table selections and a friendly attentive staff in a cute nicely done setting. Had the lamb duo and was impressed by the presentation and flavour. The dessert was a “take me home and love me forever” moment. Good job on the new place and hope to have many more memorable nights here. Read more
