For many of our children, the experience at Royal York Road Nursery School will be the first major step away from the family circle. We want this new frontier to be a happy place and one to which they are eager to return each day. Our programs focus on introducing preschoolers to the school environment. We aim to provide a healthy and physically secure environment for each child and to create a relationship of trust between children and their teachers. We wish our children to learn through play, fully utilizing the school's equipment, materials, and activities.

As early childhood educators, we believe that keeping children healthy and safe is the primary focus, and also must be aware of child development stages to plan activity program appropriately. The children can have opportunities to develop their social, emotional, physical and cognitive skills. We recognize the diversity of our society. We feel that children benefit from experiencing that diversity within a caring child care.

OUR STORY is connected to our city. Just as our communities grew and changed over the years, we adapted and expanded our services to address an ever-growing need for equitable and inclusive access to quality child care. We started in 1991 as a non-profit home child care organization and expanded until today we support more than 750 children from ages 6 months to 12 years through ten Early Learning Child Care Centres and more than 90 Network Child Care-certified Home Child Care program locations throughout Toronto and the GTA.

All our staff members value and are sensitive to the importance of building strong relationships (child-teacher, child-child, school-home) as a inherent part of our curriculum
