We hope you can find everything you need. Strathmillan Children's Center Inc. is focused on providing high-quality, inclusive early learning and child care services to families and children in the St. James area. We recognize all children have specific abilities and needs, as well as aunique relationship to the world reflecting their family's background, historyand culture. We will make every effort to accommodate children with additional support needs, to give all children the opportunity to develop physically, socially, emotionally, and intellectually to their fullest potentials. Our staff of Early Childhood Educators (ECEs) and Child Care Assistants(CCAs) observe and document children's play to identify the abilities and needs of each child.
We provide children with a warm, caring and safe environment with the opportunities for positive social interaction as well as opportunities to develop their ability to think creatively and develop physical skills appropriate to their age level. This achieved through a stimulation program and environment positive discipline (Behaviour Management), with a supportive and competent staff. An Executive Director and a Board of Directors direct the centre. Together they form policies, which make up this program and are jointly involved in decision making. The members of the Board are parents who have children in the day care and members of the community. The Board of Directors are mainly elected at the Annual General Meeting which is held within the next five months of our fiscal year.
