In 1972 Mabel Dunham of Burnaby received her Bachelor of Education and Adult Education diploma at UBC; she was over sixty years of age at the time. Convinced other people her age would also be interested in furthering their education it became Mabel's mission to structure a self-help college.
Regent College is an evangelical, international graduate school of Christian studies based in Vancouver and affiliated with the University of British Columbia, Canada's third largest university. It was founded in 1968 as the first graduate school of theology in North America to make education of the laity its central focus. We offer four graduate degrees, an innovate summer course program, and a variety of conferences, evening lectures, and arts performances.
We are dedicated to the advancement of interprofessional education and interprofessional collaboration. We work with the 15 health and human service programs at UBC to develop learning experiences that give students from different disciplines opportunities to learn about, from and with each other. We also collaborate with the British Columbia health authorities, other post-secondary institutions, as well as national and international organizations working towards interprofessional education and collaboration.
