The Powell River Council for Arts, Culture and Heritage, known simply as the Arts' Council, is a registered society in British Columbia with a mission to enhance the quality of life and creative vitality of the people who live in the Powell River region.
My vision for Bear Heart is to create a versatile, sacred space that you immediately feel when you come through the doors. Most of my life has been dedicated to community building and aid. In these ever changing times, I hold old teachings and merge them with the new to the best of my ability. When I designed the space, I wanted it to sum up the powerful effects that colour, light and frequency produce in our bodies.
This has become my field of study. I wanted to create a regenerative pod of high tech frequency and light-based modalities that would all pair together holistically, for a wide range of applications regarding one’s health and wellness. Being an artist as well, it was important to have an inspiring place where others and I could create unique items to sell.
Bear Heart gives the opportunity for artists to display and sell their works of art. This is truly a place of warmth, compassion, rejuvenation, creativity and opportunity.

Updated June 13, 2013 Website by BMD www.powellriverartists.comCelebrating Artists in Powell River the Powell River Studio Tour2012 marked the 8th and last year of the Powell River Studio Tour. Started in 2004 byAlfred Muma, a wellknown local artist, the Tour featured individual artists and galleries in 20+ locations from Lang Bay to Lund. Visitors were able to see the diversity and excellence of the art community in the Powell River region and, as an added bonus, some spectacular, natural beauty along the way. Each year the Tour was organized by a few volunteers who put in their time and effort to promote the region as an art community as well as the individual participating artists and artisans. The committee members are Alfred Muma , Richard Benson , Vi Isaac andBrenda Neal l with Lowell Morris taking responsibility for sponsorships. We like to think the Tour will be missed by the 200+ people who enjoyed it every year.In order for local artists and artisans to continue to have a venue to showcase their work, the Powell River Arts Council chose to work with Coast Cultural Alliance , a nonprofit organization that sponsors the Sunshine Coast Art Crawl.
