The Sunshine Coast Arts Council is a volunteer-based society founded February 22, 1966 to raise to profile of local artists and artisans and to broaden the opportunities for Sunshine Coast citizens to enjoy and to participate in cultural activities. Over the years the Sunshine Coast Arts Centre has been a vital resource for the artistic and cultural life of the Coast community. It incorporates the ‘Doris Crowston’ public gallery showcasing the work of Coast artists and guest artists from off coast, a music studio housing a community piano and a public art studio.
