On Saturday June 21st, we held a private concert in the shop at Le Marché. Flights of Fancy, a night of 17th century Italian music, featured performances by Paul Luchkow (violin) and Michael Jarvis (harpsichord) . When I arrived, I walked into Marché in a state of dishevelled beauty. The cafe was still taking orders as Janaki, Pascal and crew made preparations for another one of our lovely collaborations.

Our original bistro opened in December 2001 in Point Grey in Vancouver's West Side. Through the heartwarming support of our local guests, we quickly experienced what neighbourhood and community mean to our bistro concept and our personal well being. Since our modest beginnings, we continue to select vital urban neighbourhoods in which to situate our bistros. To this day, we feel it's important to participate in the communities where we live and work.

After several nights and several Pisco Sours we came up with the name for Vancouver's newest Peruvian inspired eatery: Chicha Restaurant. We chose it mostly because it sounds fun and feminine. But Chicha Morado also happens to be a very popular drink in Peru, made from purple corn, spices, pineapple, and citrus. At our restaurant the chicha morado along with everything else on our menu is made from scratch and fresh by us with love. Our vision for Chicha restaurant is a fun, casual restaurant that offers modern, creative small share plates and innovative cocktails inspired by Peruvian ingredients and flavors. A place where friends, lovers, and family can come have an upbeat time, share dishes and experience our bold favored, colorful, modern interpretation of Peruvian food.
