Welcome to Collingwood, one of Vancouver's oldest neighbourhoods. This unique neighbourhood dates back to the late 1890's. Many of the early settlers in the area were farmers. Avalon Dairy, one of the oldest established dairy farms in the province, is still located here.In 1890 Collingwood had Vancouver's first streetcars. The fare was a nickel. The line connected Collingwood with New Westminster and Vancouver. Colourful lamppost banners run along a boulevard of trees and planted landscaping in the street median and sidewalks that bring an attractive uniformity to the storefronts. The Nanaimo Gymnastics School is a not-for-profit society dedicated to foster, improve and encourage amateur gymnastics, sportsmanship and good citizenship. Our mission is to develop an effective gymnastics program, that which maximizes skill acquisition in a safe and structured environment. Our coaches are certified under the National Coaching Certification Program and pursue other educational opportunities to become the best gymnastics coaches they can be. We welcome athletes ages 18 months to adulthood and have various programs to choose from, from drop-in to preschool and recreational structured classes, from birthday parties to a highly successful competitive program in the disciplines of Women's Artistic Gymnastics and Trampoline & Tumbling.

EDAM is a contemporary dance company under the artistic directorship of Peter Bingham. EDAM's mandate is to provide a stable and fertile environment for the development of contemporary dance. The Company is deeply committed to the investigation of movement itself as an expressive art form. EDAM supports many possibilities for creative expression within the kinetic arts through the creation and production of choreography and through the practice and presentation of the art of improvisation. In addition to producing its own work, EDAM presents the work of guest choreographers and encourages collaborative projects with artists working in other disciplines.
