Welcome to Deer Lodge Community Club!It's been 75 years since we opened our doors to the community. Generations have come to play, meet and celebrate to make DLCC the heart of St. James recreation and community!DLCC is located near the corner of Linwood Street and Bruce Avenue in St James. The Centre has hosted various sports teams over the years, including Hockey, Soccer, Basketball, Baseball and Softball. We have also offered, through co-operation with the different community groups, Brownies, Sparks, Rhythmic Gymnastics, Yog,a Aerobics and Karate.Groups within the community club include the Parent-Child Centred Coalition and the Seniors Group. They are always accepting new members. There's also a church that meets on Sundays and most weekends wedding socials are happening. Sturgeon Heights CC is offering a Free Fit Club starting next Tuesday May 13, 6 pm and running weekly if there is interest. This is offered by SHCC and run by local trainers that have offered their services for free to help the community get in shape. Similar to a sample of programs like P90X and some of the more popular exercise programs. There will be sports drinks or other recovery drinks supplied. All will be offered at no cost. Waverley Heights Community Centre (WHCC) basketball teams will be playing in the Community Club Basketball League (Club Basketball) being offered by the WMBA. The WMBA also offers a Rising Stars League. Rising stars athletes may not play on a WMBA Community Club team during the same season. Players are only permitted to play on one WMBA team at a time.The WMBA is a not-for-profit community club based basketball league located in Winnipeg.

The Manitoba Children's Museum features hands-on exhibits designed to allow families to explore at their own pace. The feature gallery is a fully restored 1952 diesel train inside the building that kids can explore.
