After several nights and several Pisco Sours we came up with the name for Vancouver's newest Peruvian inspired eatery: Chicha Restaurant. We chose it mostly because it sounds fun and feminine. But Chicha Morado also happens to be a very popular drink in Peru, made from purple corn, spices, pineapple, and citrus. At our restaurant the chicha morado along with everything else on our menu is made from scratch and fresh by us with love. Our vision for Chicha restaurant is a fun, casual restaurant that offers modern, creative small share plates and innovative cocktails inspired by Peruvian ingredients and flavors. A place where friends, lovers, and family can come have an upbeat time, share dishes and experience our bold favored, colorful, modern interpretation of Peruvian food.
Had the most amazing meal at St. Lawrence. The food was out of this world and the service was impeccable. You really feel like you're in another city when you're sitting in there. We had the foie gras appetizer, baked potatoes done like poutine, the steak frites, lamb, and sugar pie for dessert. All were delicious and I can't wait to go back! The service staff were so friendly! Read more

Milano Coffee is very proudly from Vancouver and has been at the forefront of the west coast coffee culture since it's inception in 1984. But the Milano story is older, much older than that. Few coffee roasters in North America can lay claim to the lineage like Milano Coffee. The legacy of Vancouver based Milano Coffee's artisan tradition dates back three quarters of a century to the very beginnings of Italian espresso itself! The distinct taste derived from the secrets of the torrefazione (a time honored roasting and blending craftsmanship) is fervently protected and handed down from one generation to the next. Our history is traceable, with a lineage of Musetti, Curatolo and Turko - a legacy of three generations of family owned and operated Casa Torrefazione. Our Italian roots remain, but we are now a Canadian, west coast Coffee tradition.
First-time at Milano's and not being a coffee expert I had no idea what coffee to select. The server selected a wonderful coffee. And when i returned to buy another cup the manager offered on the house. Such a fantastic first-time experience that I will surely visit them again! Read more
L'Abattoir is located in the center of Gastown between historic Gaoler's Mews and Blood Alley. The restaurant was built in the 19th century and is the site of Vancouver's first jail. Originally buttressed to the city's main butchery and meat packing district, the name L'Abattoir pays homage to the neighbourhood's colourful past. Set in a refurbished brick and beam building that combines classic French tile work with industrial fixtures, natural wood, and glass and steel finishes, the restaurant offers a bar and lounge setting, elevated dining room and plush, sun soaked atrium. Chef Lee Cooper and Owner / Operator Paul Grunberg are dedicated to highlighting the finer points of eating and drinking in L'Abattoir's informed but informal setting. French influenced West Coast fare is paired with Wine Director Lisa Haley's eclectic wine program and Bar Manager Thor Paulson's innovative cocktail list to offer a truly unique dining experience.
Salt is a tasting room specializing in artisanal cheese, small-batch cured meats, and a dynamic array of wines, beers and sherries. Guests assemble a Tasting Plate from our chalkboard's selection of 10 cheeses, 10 meats, and 10 condiments. The wine list is dynamic and constantly evolving. Global in nature, one can always expect a sampling of vinous delights from our own backyard, or your favourite wine regions the world-over. The selections change constantly, making it almost impossible to have the same Salt experience twice.
You have to remember when going here that this is a wine tasting room, not a place to have dinner. The wine list is imaginative and approachable. The service on a good night is excellent, on a bad night is so-so, but the staff have always been very helpful with the wine choices, pairings, and flight recommendations. The food is charcuterie, not full meals. Use this place to meet up for a pre-dinner drink, or to end off the night with some wine appreciation. Read more
Housed in the historic Dominion Grand Hotel (est. 1899) in Gastown, this pub was renovated in 2007 and retains its original tin-stamped ceilings, exposed brick walls, stained glass windows and railings. The rest of this storied room has been given a grand renovation, including a new sound system and jukebox, classic pub furniture and flatscreen TVs. A long-time favourite Vancouver watering hole, the Lamplighter is the city's busiest pub for good reason: friendly service, honest local pub fare and a large selection of craft beer and cocktails.
