In 1972 Hank Hubert and Ron Foss, were teamed up on Unit Three of the Youth Development Centre, an Alberta Provincial Government 'Juvenile Delinquent Rehabilitation' centre in Edmonton Alberta. These two Rehabilitation Counselors began to talk about the possibility of running their own 'Group Home' and began to formulate, and eventually presented to the Government of Alberta, a proposal to develop such a facility in either Red Deer or Lethbridge. At the same time, the Government was planning to develop Youth Assessment Centres in both of these areas. Through a series of negotiations they were eventually given the opportunity to operate one of these facilities. Ron & Hank formed a company called F&H Residential and Assessment Services Ltd which was awarded a contract to operate the Youth Assessment Centre in Red Deer, Alberta. This facility initially functioned as a 'Juvenile Detention Centre' under the old Juvenile Delinquents Act. And so began a venture which is thriving today as Heritage Family Services Ltd
The campground is a family-oriented facility, and environmentally friendly. Quiet socializing is expected from all campers. Noisy campers and late night parties are not tolerated.

At the Hwy 2 Lacombe interchange, proceed west on Hwy 12 through the town of Bentley, Alberta, to Hwy 20. Travel north for a few km (~ 3 km). Watch for the campground sign and turn north again to Hwy 771. Continue to the campground entrance and enter campground entrance road.
