The Rural Municipality of Swan River, with 2,784 residents, lies East of the Saskatchewan border, forming a valley between the Duck and Porcupine Mountains, and has within its borders the Town of Swan River; Villages of Benito and Bowsman; and Hamlets of Durban and Kenville.

The Rural Municipality of Albert was named for Albert Edward, Prince of Wales later King Edward 7th. The RM of Albert was incorporated in 1905. It includes the communities of Bede, Bernice, Broomhill and Tilston. The municipality covers an area of 288 square miles and has a population of 339.
