The CompanyThe Write Room was founded in 2001 by Dr. Gerda Wever. Over the past 13 years it has worked on a wide variety of projects concerning writing, editing, and translation, building a large national and international clientele in the process. In the fall of 2008, The Write Room launched its own independent academic press, The Write Room Press - the first title of which was released in spring of 2009. In 2013 the company split its two branches, The Write Room, and The Write Room Press. While still connected, the two divisions are now operated separately: Dr. Gerda Wever manages The Write Room, which specializes in academic writing, and Jessica Chan manages The Write Room Press.
