Ekstasis Editions is a Canadian literary publisher, with emphasis on poetry, fiction and criticism. Since 1982, Ekstasis has published literature of international quality in a way that is beautiful and lasting. The word 'Ekstasis' comes from an ancient Greek word, meaning 'to stand outside oneself.' We strive to publish literature that is integrative rather than disintegrative, oceanic rather than continental, and holistic rather than fragmentary.Originally, Ekstasis published almost exclusively poetry, but it has diversified and branched out into related forms such as literary fiction, metaphysics, theatre and most recently Children's and Young Adult books under the Cherubim Books imprint.
I love books. I love libraries. I love our Munro's Books and Chapters. I love reading books most of all and can't imagine my life without books. That is why my profession and my passion are book design. I always have some books nearby to read. I am dreaming about my home book collection that have books of my favorite Russian, Ukrainian and English writers – Leo Tolstoy, Anton Chekhov, Ostap Vyshnya, John Galsworthy, Oscar Wilde, Somerset Maugham.I came to Victoria from Ukraine in 2008. In Ukraine I was a newspaper designer and did books for my friends – the local writers. I believe that writers are special and interesting people, I love to listen their stories and ideas, to work with their manuscripts and to be helpful as much as possible.
