Once a strawberry farm owned by the Chinese, Hackers has been a haven for a long time. The Chaplin family bought the land in 1976; ten and a half acres of beautiful green earth, to mold and shape into a golf course. John and Helen Kastelein purchased the course in 1981 and established the Hackers Haven name. At a starting rate of a $1.50 for adults and a $1 for kids, it has come along way and gone through many changes to become what we now enjoy.

Gleneagles Golf Course in West Vancouver is a 9-hole, 2600 yard, parkland, 35 par municipal golf course with most holes being tree-lined. The course is located adjacent to the Gleneagles Elementary School. Located at the centre of the golf course, the Gleneagles Golf Course Club House and Banquet Hall affords sweeping views through the sixth fairway, to the ocean at Larson Bay.
