The North End Community Renewal Corporation (NECRC) was founded in 1998 by a coalition of Winnipeg organizations who were concerned about some of the trends in the north end of Winnipeg and who were aware of the good results that community development corporations in other parts of North American were achieving in revitalizing inner city communities. The NECRC was established to serve the community within the geographic area north of the CP tracks, south of Carruthers Ave., east of McPhillips Street and west of the Red River.The mandate of the corporation is to promote the social, economic and cultural renewal of the north end of Winnipeg. It does this by improving the quality and accessibility of housing, creating jobs, upgrading commercial and industrial areas, implementing employment development programs, improving the overall image of the community, and reducing crime in the community. The corporation provides co-ordination activities and a strategic focus for many of the community improvement activities taking place in the north end.NECRC is committed to the social, economic and cultural renewal of the North End of Winnipeg.NECRC defines its development goals through annual consultations and ongoing networking with North End residents and businesses

We are a charitable, non-profit organization licensed through the Manitoba Child Day Care Office.We occupy 8 classrooms in John Dafoe School and one classroom, Room 124, at J.B. Mitchell School. We are licensed for 165 children, 80 preschool and 85 school age. Children are divided into age appropriate groupings in individual classrooms. Our professional staff provides educational, meaningful activities that stimulate learning and socializing.We recognize the unique developmental needs of all children to provide an inclusive environment.

Knox Day Nursery Inc. has been in operation since 1969. We provide care to children from the ages of three months to six years. The children are separated among four rooms: Rainbow, Butterfly, Sunbeam and Starlight. The children are grouped by mixed ages with the exception of infants and toddlers who are in the same room. From time to time throughout your child?s daycare life, they may be moved from one room to another. This will be discussed with the parent / caregiver prior to the move.Knox Day Nursery Inc. is staffed by qualified Early Childhood Educators and additional support staff. We provide a well-planned and varied program as we feel children learn best by hand-on experiences.Hours of OperationDay Program - 6:30am to 5:30pmEvening Program - 2:30pm to 9:30pmWe look forward to having your child in our care. we're a casual organization of people who like to ride our motorcycles and maybe do a little socializing (or a lot of socializing, if you like). As a Chapter Member, you'll have the chance to meet other people who are interested in riding; we have more than 150 members so you are likely to find someone that you like to ride with. Here, in the following pages of our new website, you'll get more of an idea about us and what we do.Our Chapter meets on the last Thursday of every month @ 7:00 p.m., at Smitty's Restaurant (2835 Pembina Highway). The meetings are generally short, informative and fun.
