I don't think you can go wrong with that place. I went there for my birthday, best service I had and how great to enjoy the melody of the piano in the background. The filet mignon was great and I can't wait to try the oysters and hopefully I get lucky enought to sit on the roof top patio during summer! Read more

Maria's Taverna was established in 1987 by Maria and her family. Her hard work and dedication has established a reputation as one of the finest Greek restaurants in Vancouver. Maria had worked in various Greek restaurants such as Orestes before branding her own style of Greek food. Her specialty items include her Kleftico (roast lamb), Paithakia Skaras (lamb chops), Mousaka, and her Chicken Souvlaki. She is also known for her Homous and Taram and sizzling Saganaki. We guarantee you won't be disappointed in visiting Maria's Taverna. OPA!
Maria's is a Kitsilano institution. The atmosphere is everything you would expect a Greek restaurant to offer complete with pictures of Greek scenery adorning the walls. The food is really good and even my wife who is not the biggest fan of Greek food loves the food at Maria's. I usually have what I had on our most recent visit...one of the souvlaki dinners. Our most recent trip I had chicken souvlaki and the chicken was perfectly tender and the potatoes and rice were great too. Next time you have a hankering for Greek food visit Maria's Taverna on 4th!Read more
