I have been to other telescope stores that lack attention, service, and give a bad feeling as if they are more bothered. I was looking for an upgrade and went into Vancouver Telescope for the first time. These people are absolutely fantastic, very knowledgeable, helpful, and returned the very next day. I am very happy with the owner's personal attention, and the staff. I will no longer go to any other store for an upgrade or accessories. I am happy with my purchase and look forward to my new telescope! Shame on the other store who made me feel like I was bothering them. This is a real store with real service and support! Highly recommend going there! A.C. Read more

I love Taf's. It has a Berlinesque feel to it and is one of kind. Such a relief in this franchised world! AND There are not TV's in every corner annoying the patrons. The art and music adds a unique atmosphere which is very pleasurable. It has an underground feeling with cozy seating upstairs. I always go to TAF's when I'm Downtown. Read more
L'Abattoir is located in the center of Gastown between historic Gaoler's Mews and Blood Alley. The restaurant was built in the 19th century and is the site of Vancouver's first jail. Originally buttressed to the city's main butchery and meat packing district, the name L'Abattoir pays homage to the neighbourhood's colourful past. Set in a refurbished brick and beam building that combines classic French tile work with industrial fixtures, natural wood, and glass and steel finishes, the restaurant offers a bar and lounge setting, elevated dining room and plush, sun soaked atrium. Chef Lee Cooper and Owner / Operator Paul Grunberg are dedicated to highlighting the finer points of eating and drinking in L'Abattoir's informed but informal setting. French influenced West Coast fare is paired with Wine Director Lisa Haley's eclectic wine program and Bar Manager Thor Paulson's innovative cocktail list to offer a truly unique dining experience.

The cafe and retail store offers more than 200 different types of tea. Black tea, white tea, green tea, rooibos – it's all here. One of the most popular teas is Divine Temptation, a richly-flavoured, aromatic black tea with chunks of hazelnut and nougat in it.
The greatest asset of the Dockside Restaurant and Brewing Company -- besides its friendly and well-trained staff -- is its fabulous location. We had a lovely table by the window so we had a nice view. Overall ambience is very bright and contemporary. To our benefit the restaurant was not that busy on a weeknight and we parked very close. The service was very good. We enjoyed their daily flatbread special and crab cakes to start. For our mains we went with halibut and osso bucco, both too were very good and cooked just right. And to finish went with a delicious choco molten cake just perfect to share. Read more
The boutique opened in 2003, at a time when Vancouver was better known for conservative neutrals than bold, statement-making design. Under the vision and direction of co-owners Darci Ilich and Stephanie Vogler, The Cross changed the city's design landscape and quickly garnered international attention for its aesthetic, which is at once refined and relaxed, more playful than perfectly polished.
